Yes, I know I’m late to the party, just now reading my first Grace Livingston Hill. When I was young her books were so ubiquitous I presumed – so wrongly – that they were fluffy Christian fiction. While looking for some free fiction last week, I downloaded a few freebies at the Kindle store. The Girl From Montana was the first I read, and so far, the best. Hill immediately made me care about “the girl” — long before I knew her name, and her journey led me through a story I thoroughly enjoyed. The writing style reminds me of another favorite author, Owen Wister (author of The Virginian).
